We understand that seeking support for anxiety and depression takes courage, and we are committed to ensuring that your membership and participation remain completely private and anonymous. Your profile is never visible to the public, and other members cannot see your personal information without your explicit consent.
1. Who We Are
Mending Minds operates as the Anxiety and Depression Association for Men (ADAM), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our website is located at mendingminds.net. Contact: membership@mendingminds.net
2. Your Anonymity is Protected
- Your membership is private. No one outside of ADAM’s administrative team can see that you are a member.
- Your profile is hidden from the public. Your name, photo, and any personal information you provide are never displayed publicly.
- Other members cannot see your profile. Member profiles are not visible to other members by default.
- You may use a username or alias. You are never required to use your real name.
- Your mental health information stays private. Any information you share about your primary concern is strictly confidential.
3. Information We Collect
Account Information: Email address, display name or username (you may use an alias), and encrypted password.
Optional Profile Information: Phone number, city and state, primary concern (anxiety, depression, both, stress, or other), how you found ADAM, and preferred communication method.
Technical Information: IP address (security only), browser type, pages visited, and login timestamps.
Payment Information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your information solely to maintain your secure account, personalize your experience, send newsletters (opt-in only), protect platform security, and comply with legal obligations. We will never sell your data, share it with advertisers, or display your profile publicly.
5. Your Rights and Control Over Your Data
You may at any time: view and edit your profile, delete your account, request a copy of your data, or opt out of emails. Contact membership@mendingminds.net — we respond within 30 days.
US members (CCPA): Right to know, delete, and opt out of data sales (we do not sell data).
International members (GDPR): Right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data.
6. Data Security
- SSL/HTTPS encryption — all data is encrypted in transit
- Encrypted passwords — bcrypt hashing, never readable
- Wordfence WAF — active firewall and malware scanning
- Login protection — lockout after 5 failed attempts
- Daily backups — UpdraftPlus automated backups
- Role-based access control — only admins can access member data
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for login and preference cookies for settings. No advertising or tracking cookies. Disabling cookies may affect your ability to log in.
8. Third-Party Services
Stripe (payments), Google Analytics (anonymous traffic), and Anthropic Claude AI (ADAM chatbot). None receive your mental health information.
9. Data Retention
We retain data while your account is active. Account deletion removes your data within 30 days except where legally required.
10. Children’s Privacy
Our services are for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Contact membership@mendingminds.net if you believe a minor has registered.
11. Changes to This Policy
We will notify active members of significant changes via email. The date at the top reflects the most recent update.
