What is ADAM?

ADAM — Anxiety and Depression Association for Men — is a nonprofit community and mental health community for men. We provide peer support, resources, crisis tools, and a community for men who are ready to prioritize their wellbeing. We operate through Mending Minds, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Is ADAM only for dads?

Not at all. ADAM is open to any man — regardless of age, background, or what's going on in his life. If you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or just want access to better mental health resources, this is for you.

Is it free to join?

Yes. Core membership — including the community forum, crisis resources, and basic member tools — is completely free. We also offer premium tiers with expanded access to workshops, one-on-one coaching, and certified programs. No man should be priced out of support.

What if I'm in crisis right now?

Please reach out immediately. Call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7. You can also text HOME to 741741 for the Crisis Text Line. If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. You matter — please ask for help.

How is this different from therapy?

ADAM is not a replacement for professional therapy — and we'd always encourage you to pursue it. What we offer is peer support, practical resources, and a place to connect with other men. Many members use ADAM alongside therapy. We also have a therapist directory to help you find someone who specializes in men's mental health.

How do I get involved beyond membership?

There are many ways to be part of ADAM's mission: volunteer as a peer mentor, bring the Mending Minds Certified program to your workplace, donate to support free memberships for men in need, or simply share our mission with someone who needs it. Visit our Get Involved page to learn more.
